EMW wins NATO Command And Operating Space
Management (COpM) Tools Contract
Herndon, Virginia — EMW,
Inc. of Herndon, Virginia USA has been awarded a new NATO Contract
by the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A) in
Brussels, Belgium, for Provision Of System Upgrades For ISAF Command
And Operating Space Management (COpM) Tools in support of NATO
forces currently conducting the International Security Assistance
Force (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan.
The expansion of the ISAF Area of Operations and the ISAF support
to stability and security operations, including decisive, proactive
military ground and air maneuver designed to dominate the battle
space in co-ordination with, or in support of, the Afghan National
Security Forces (ANSF), will greatly increase the complexity of
these operations. It will be vital to establish and maintain
an exchange of tracked data between ISAF and Operation Enduring
Freedom (OEF) to create a mutually coordinated Command and Operating
Space Management environment. The Coalition Forces COpM toolsets,
based on C2PC (Command and Control for Personal Computer) software,
will be deployed as an interim solution until a new NATO system
is implemented at some future point.
EMW will procure, configure and install C2PC Gateway Servers to
support the distribution of COpM across the ISAF Area of Operations
(AO). Those servers will operate on the ISAF Secure network already
deployed and the COpM will be displayed on the users workstations
currently fielded. Part of the contract tasking for EMW is to evaluate
the several hundred current workstations and provide any required
upgrades or replacements to ensure the COpM data is displayed properly
on them.
The work on this contract will be conducted by EMW in Herndon,
Virginia USA, at its Belgian Subsidiary, EMW BVBA in Brussels,
and at various locations in the ISAF AO.
